Doodlebop Photo Op - Pilot Episode, April 11, 2005

Today's song: Getting Along
Secondary song: Read a Book

The phone rings, and Moe answers. Rooney and DeeDee make a lot of noise, being very inconsiderate of Moe. Because of this, Moe is unable to hear well, and doesn't completely understand what the person on the phone is telling him. What he does hear is that the person on the phone is a photographer who wants to take someone's picture for a magazine cover. It will be only 1 person, but Moe did not hear who it would be.

With this information, trouble ensues as the Doodlebops each feel that they should be the one to appear on the cover. After various contests and races, they are still tied, and don't have a winner for who will be on the magazine cover. Finally they arrive at the concert hall. They decide to tell the photographer that they are a group, and if he wants one of them, he must use all of them for the cover.

So who does the photographer want a picture of? Tune in to find out!

Rooney bakes a birthday cake; Moe causes him to step on it. This is very frequent this episode, as several cakes are ruined, and several gifts from Rooney are also ruined.

Bus Driver Bob gives DeeDee a small version of the bus, called the Doodlebop Express. At the concert hall, Mazz gives DeeDee a red necklace. Rooney and Moe still have nothing for DeeDee, not even a card.

They decide to give DeeDee a special gift. They will wear the tutus and do her new song and dance.

After Mazz finishes talking to a friend in France, Rooney asks what Bonjour and Hola mean (Hello in French and Spanish).

Rooney then breaks out into song, singing a portion of today's concert piece, Did Ya Ever?

Finally, it is time to go fly a kite. DeeDee and Moe have fun flying kites while Rooney sits on the grass and continues to ask more questions.

When Bus Driver Bob picks them up, Rooney immediately questions where he is going. Mazz had forgotten to call Bob with the concert venue change. Fortunately Rooney asked all those questions, and knew exactly where to go.

Because of questions Rooney also knew how to say hi to those kids watching in France and Spain, where today's concert was being shown.

After the instruments are tuned, the Doodlebops decide to switch things around for a day. DeeDee will play guitar and do what Rooney likes to do. Rooney plays drums and does things Moe normally does, and Moe takes over the piano, and does what DeeDee likes doing.

When Rooney goes to pull the rope, Moe tells him he wants to do it, and that they will switch after the rope is pulled.

At the music studio, the Doodlebops tell Audio Murphy about the switch, and he calls Mudge to see if the two of them can switch. Mudge says no, and the Doodlebops tell Audio Murphy they will switch with him sometime. When they begin to play the instruments in preparation of making the video, it sounds horrible. They practice a few times until each person can play the instrument of their switch without sounding so bad. After the video is complete, they comment to each other about how hard it is to play each other's instruments.

On the bus, Moe does Magic, and after three tries, still can't get it right. DeeDee decides to invent something, and like Moe, after three tries, she can't get it right either. Upon entering the concert hall, Rooney has hidden, but Moe and DeeDee immediately know where he is hiding. Turns out, Rooney can't hide as well as Moe.

The Doodlebops decide that the fans want to see them play their own instruments, so for the concert they decide to be themselves. Bus Driver Bob and Jazzmine decide to switch, and we quickly see that Bus Driver Bob is not very good at Jazzmine's job.

Moe's Hiding Place: In a compartment under the floor, riding a horse
Special Guest: Albert Howell played Zimmy Zimzam

DeeDee is totally star struck. Zimmy Zimzam will be at the videotaping and the concert with the Doodlebops, and DeeDee couldn't be happier. She is overflowing with excitement, and somewhat in love with Zimmy. DeeDee thinks he is handsome, a great singer, and he is her complete hero. She owns all of his videos, compact discs, posters, and keeps every article written about Zimmy Zimzam. She says that he is the reason she started singing.

Her infatuation and total craziness over Zimmy Zimzam has Moe frustrated, and Rooney telling Moe to let her do what she wants this time, because it makes her happy.

It doesn't take long before DeeDee tries to turn the Doodlebops into Zimmy, by Zimifying them. Even Rooney finally gets tired of it, and on the bus to the concert hall reminds DeeDee that she is a Doodlebop. Rooney and Moe tell her that people like her, and the Doodlebops for who they are, and they should not try to be someone else.

After this talk, DeeDee finally realizes how she has been acting, and tells Moe and Rooney she will talk to Zimmy at the concert hall.

Zimmy is happy that DeeDee has decided to be herself, because he was there as a fan of hers, and the Doodlebops. This makes DeeDee very happy, and when Zimmy takes a seat in the audience, she is thrilled to have her hero watching her.

Secondary song: Switch-a-Doodle

Moe's Hiding Place: In a flowerpot, disguised as a flower.

DeeDee has a cold and keeps sneezing. Her nose is plugged and she can't smell anything. There are new flowers in Doodlebop Central that DeeDee brought to spruce the place up.

When Jazz arrives, she sees that fern's, trees, and flowers fill Doodlebop Central. DeeDee explains why she brought them, and then shows everyone her favorite flower.

This is a very stinky flower, called the Ewww Flower, and Rooney, Moe, and Jazz can't stand the smell. Since DeeDee has a cold, she can't smell it, but loves it because it has a pink flower.

When they get to the recording studio, Rooney and Moe bring out an apple pie and a rose to try to make the stink from DeeDee's flower go away. It doesn't work.

Once Bus Driver Bob picks them up Rooney decides to treat DeeDee's cold with chicken noodle soup and orange juice. Moe wants some too, and Rooney explains that it is just for DeeDee. Rooney is hoping that if DeeDee can smell the flower, she will get rid of it.

When they arrive at the concert hall, DeeDee is saddened to see that nobody likes her pink Ewww Flower.

Finally, DeeDee's cold clears up and she is able to smell her flower. After wrinkling her nose, she says that it isn't THAT bad!
